Minha primeira impressão do ubuntu 24.04 não foi boa estava cheio de erros inclusive no instalador, após algumas semanas as coisas se ajustaram e sinceramente não tenho problemas, hoje as coisas funcionam como deveriam, no Fedora 40 as coisas são mais estáveis logo de cara mas tive alguns pequenos bugs de áudio principalmente delay no chrome que me fizeram desistir do mesmo por hora.

Zorin 17.1 OS did a much better job for with their integration of Wine, Bottles and PipeWire so Windows users will be able to keep on working with Windows software that do not have a Linux version.

OSS community should streamline their focus rather than creating 1000 more crappy distros and 1000 more desktop environments, if the intention is to ever compete with Windows and MacOS. Linux fully loaded versions doesn't work without niggles, forget about Linux Lite. Fractional scaling is crap except KDE+xorg, wayland has so manu bugs. Bluetooth is a hit or miss. No DRM supported content - Cannonical or RHEL or System76 can make it happen. Most non-tech users don't give 2 hoots about configurability when Linux itself is so fragile. Neither do they care about philosophy or anything else. Breaking Linux install is so much easier than Windows/MacOS. Linux fanboys lives in some utopia which does not exist.

I prefer Mint XFCe version, not a fan of SNAPs.

absolutely useless crap. this is insane. a lot of gnome devs hard worked to make a refined, easy, distraction free desktop with nothing on it and bottom of it. no icons. no dash. no dock. just press superkey and write first letters of your program. bam. you are there. just press superkey. bam. here is your open apps. easier than eating a cake. and some random guys are trying to poison this elegant and minimal environment with ducking win and mac desktop mentality. you know what. i hate all of those crapwares. gnome extensions. - apps menu. why. just press super+A keys. - dash to dock. just press super+A keys. - dash to panel. just press super+A keys. - places menu. super+a+"fi". here are files. - window list. why you need it. just superkey. - Desktop Icons NG (DING). why is that. we are trying to save ourselves from distraction. just supper+a to see apps. so basically all of "gnome extensions(!)" are trying to make gnome to gnome less. to revert it. to spoil devs hard work. and for me pop os is a den for those craps.

Kubuntu is a great choice IMO

NO this will NOT solve distro hopping, since most people,e switch distro for the GUI/Windowing system, Containers/Distrobox tech only exposes Apps, NOT THE WHOLE WINDOW MANAGER/GUI, so if BlendOS is running GNOME, your window Mgr will REMAIN Gnome, although you may install other apps.

You said that you can play "pretty much any Windows game on Linux" using Proton. However I'm on Ubuntu 24 and I just installed Steam (which should have Proton). Maybe 15% of my games there run on Linux. Is there some extra step I need to make them use Proton??

I have yet to see a Linux theme which closely or even identically matches the Windows 7 'Aero Glass' theme. Linux themes are, from what I've discerned, just colour schemes. Yawwwn. I hate Windows for being Windows but damn Linux is basic, even with themes.

First thing is, BEWARE! I tried to put Linux on my Acer Aspire and it was a disaster! I put the distro on my Ventoy USB and then booted from it. The installation process started, and I checked the erase disk and install Zorin on the disk. The process continued my hard drive was erased as expected, and finally it reached the end and prompted me to restart and remove the installation media. As soon as it restarted, I got the error; "No Bootable Device". Meantime my hard drive was wiped I did not have Windows anymore and Zorin was apparently never burned to the hard drive because I cannot boot up with it. So I am without an OS and have no bootable media for Windows 11. Thanks so much.

the state of linux is laughable, I want working and quality apps, not another desktop environment, for now I chose mac or windows, maybe in 30 years linux will be what those two are

Ive never like Ubuntu something about it is a turn off and LMDE not getting modern. Getting minimalist. Haven't tried it but have tried most distros. I'll take a look at it in a test drive.

I have a Mini PC that for some reason doesn't display the right resolution for Linux Mint. BUT, I just used Ubuntu Cinnamon, installed Flatpak, and I was good to go! Works great! Budgie is another favorite of mine because of its sleek aesthetic.

I used elementary for two years and loved it then it wouldn't let me update it, so I switched to q4os linux and been using it for 4 years.

Very Happy with the Ubuntu 24.04 , But UnityHub don't officially works in it.I tried unofficially too, but it just doesn't work at all. Will they give the support soon??
