I recently installed the 32 bit version of LMDE on two very old laptops and I was pleasantly surprised and how well it worked. Good to see that some Linux distros are still abiding by the original premise of Linux running on any computer.

There are reasons for insane ability of customisation is the least appreciated benefit of Linux. . Every professional wants to get things done without needing to customise anything. . Now you know this video has most useless information about Linux. . By the way I don't use Arch, Fedora, Rocky, Alma and Debian are my choices. Mint and POP OS are also too good for reasons not mentioned in this video.

This system is evolving quite well. Doesn't look too different than the older versions, but the new "Lite Apps" (such as the task manager) make it a lot better for use, and gives quite the diferentiation from Xubuntu 24.04. XFCE's original task manager is fine, but I feel it's a bit incomplete in terms of functions. Lite's version looks similar to W10 or W11 task manager, which I think will make things easier for new users. About Lite Tweaks, it can be confusing for a beginner, but it's quite the tool when you know what you're doing. The app center, I feel it could be better, maybe a "Lite Version" of the Gnome Software that is used on other XFCE distros (such as Xubuntu and Zorin OS Lite), or maybe something similar to Linux Mint's app center (which is the same across all Linux Mint versions, Cinnamon, XFCE, Mate and LMDE). Anyway, I feel they're on the right track in becoming a solid option. It has evolved and is evolving quite nicely, with a pretty and familiar interface and good functions/resources.

Do not use Manjaro❗ Not stable rolling release. And Zorin 17 has no Xfce version. You can use Zorin 16 light but now supported anymore.

I tought it much heavier than version 6. Well, at least on my notebook it was heavier.

One problem with flatpaks, they are not maintained by the original Developers, all it is is someone taking a version and keeping it that version, and will not always work right. snaps I'm not to sure on, but am just more used to package manager and built in what you might know as a software center or store. I don't always use that too much more apt and package manager.

Linux Mint is kind of outdated here and there. They are still not moving on from Xorg while all major distros have switched to Wayland. Also still using PulseAudio while Fedora and Ubuntu have moved on.

Too much hype IMO. A few niggles: !) It's a stretch to call their config file format a programming language. It's a configuration file format. And just looking at it, it's no more human readable than most other config file formats. 2)Claiming NixOS is not based on any other distro seems like a less important claim than this guy thinks. I'd be more excited if I didn't see a GNOME desktop there. I'd like to hear more about how it supposedly doesn't allow you to install incompatible libraries. That's cool, I guess. But I'm more concerned that people can make direct changes to config files, or change them via standard utilities are super permissive. What would truly excite me is an OS that had ONE allowed base API and window system, desktop environment, literally preventing any user, even root, from installing or upgrading system libraries at all. Force all apps to use the ONE official set of libs and environment (like Qt + Wayland + KDE) and actively block anything else from running. Lock it down hard and maybe we'll have a stable target that will lure devs to write large amounts of really good software.

When I saw this video a few months back I thought this is great But now I am using NixOS and it has a larger repository than AUR in fact, now it has 100000 packages in a stable branch But that's not what I want to say, what I want to say is, that blend os isn't different from other distros, and it didn't combined every distro, what they did is just give you the support of distrobox by default, and this distrobox can be installed on any linux distribution, and you can get any package from any container, and it is really fast it isn't like virtual machines, so blend os is just providing you this distrobox by default nothing new

I assume you're not aware of the existence of the Void Linus distribution as you would otherwise have included it for sure.
